Whitney

This is a senior session I did several years ago, back before I went digital. The photos have been scanned, which is the reason for the low quality, but I loved how this session turned out and wanted to share it with you.

Bluebonnet Boys Sneak-Peek

A warm spring evening, two curious boys, a doting father, and a field full of Texas Bluebonnets. What more could I ask for? During the shoot, all my two year old wanted to do was run, run, run! But the pictures turned out great and really captured his personality. My 10 month old was eager to explore the coolness of the grass on his feet, the deep purple of the flowers, and to study this world that brings new things to his senses every day. The evening left my heart bursting with joy for the gifts that I have been given.

New In Town

Hey, y'all! Thanks for visiting my blog! My name is Rachel McKinney and I want to share my love of photography with you.
I remember my first camera. It was blue, used 110 film, and you had to buy the flash to put on it, and you only had so many flashes before you needed another one. Thankfully I've moved on to bigger and much better equipment! I've always loved to take pictures. Pictures of people, animals, objects, anything.
About 9 years ago, I started working in a photography studio. I loved doing portraits, but we were supposed to do certain poses, only so many shots, etc. I wanted to be free to take as many pictures as I wanted, photograph people in an environment they were comfortable in, use the beauty of nature as my backdrop.
So, I left the studio and started shooting for friends and family. I started shooting my cousins senior portraits, photographing my younger sisters, and I even had the opportunity to do several weddings with a friend of mine. Now I'm constantly taking pictures of my kids. If I don't have my camera close by, I get that feeling you get when you realize you don't have your cell phone, near panic!
When I photograph people, I want you to be comfortable, relaxed, yourself. I not only want to photograph you, I want to capture your life, the things that make you smile. I want to help you preserve this moment forever.
I'll be posting some of my work for you to look at soon. If you like what you see, contact me and we can talk about doing a session together!
